Sarah Abendroth

Sarah Abendroth was born in Dallas / USA. She completed her ballet training in Dallas as well as at the School of American Ballet in New York.

Sarah Abendroth had her first engagement in 1973 with the Frankfurt Ballet under Alfonso Catá and Kent Stowell and advanced to the position of a Soloist after a short time.

In 1976 she became a member of the Stuttgart Ballet where she danced as a Soloist. She worked with choreographers like Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, John Neumeier, Hans Van Manen, Maurice Béjart, Uwe Scholz and others and danced in pieces by George Balanchine, John Cranko, Glen Tetley and SirKenneth McMillan.

From 1985 to 1989 Sarah Abendroth took a baby break during which she was trained as a make-up artist.

In 1989 Sarah Abendroth began her training as a ballet pedagogue which she completed in 1992. Following that, she was engaged by the John Cranko Schule where she has worked as a ballet pedagogue and ballet mistress since then. In 2006 she was furthermore announced Artistic Associate of the John Cranko Schule.
